Background: Coproporphyrin III tetramethyl ester is a chemically methylated porphyrin derivative with enhanced lipophilicity that facilitates its incorporation into experimental systems. It plays a role in the study of photodynamic processes and the mimicry of biological light-harvesting and electron-transfer systems, and is used in porphyrin-based materials research for photovoltaics and sensor technology.
