ILEX LIFE SCIENCES LLC Ilex Life Sciences L-Asparaginase, E. coli Enzyme, Bioactive, 2,500 IU
Our high-purity, bioactive L-Asparaginase enzyme is purified from E. coli ASI.357. Purity: greater than 96%. Formulation: Lyophilized with no additives. Summary: L-Asparaginase is an enzyme that depletes L-Asparagine, an important nutrient for cancer cells, resulting in cancer/tumor cell starvation. The rationale behind asparaginase is that it takes advantage of the fact that acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells and some other suspected tumor cells are unable to synthesize the non-essential amino acid asparagine, whereas normal cells are able to make their own asparagine; thus leukemic cells depend on circulating asparagine. Asparaginase, however, catalyzes the conversion of L-asparagine to aspartic acid and ammonia. This deprives the leukemic cell of circulating asparagine, which leads to cell death. Synonyms: L-ASNase, L-asparagine amidohydrolase, ansA.

Enzo Life Sciences N-Acetyl-Asp-Glu-OH (50mg). CAS: 3106-85-2
Glutamate receptor ligand. Endogenous neurotransmitter with high affinity for the brain glutamate receptor. N-acetylated α-linked acidic dipeptidase (NAALADase), a membrane-bound peptidase, hydrolyzes α-NAAG, a major brain peptide, to N-acetylaspartate and glutamate. Discriminates between mGluR2 and mGluR3. mGluR3 activator. NMDA receptor antagonist. Neuroprotective. Alternative name: alpha NAAG, Spaglumic acid. Formula: C11H16N2O8. MW: 304.3. Purity: ≥98% (TLC). Appearance: White to off-white powder. Solubility: Soluble in water and methanol (50mg/ml). Long Term Storage: +4°C.

Enzo Life Sciences L-Theanine (25g). CAS: 3081-61-6
Amino acid analog of glutamine, uniquely found in green tea. Increases brain serotonin, dopamine and GABA levels and binds to AMPA, kainate and NMDA receptors. Has been shown to exert neuroprotective effects in animal models possibly through its antagonistic effects on group 1 metabotrophic glutamate receptors. Behavioural studies with rats suggest L-Theanine to positiveley affect learning and memory processes. Promotes self-renewal of human embryonic stem cells. Alternative name: Ngamma-Ethyl-L-glutamine, L-Glutamic acid gamma-(ethylamide). Formula: C7H14N2O3. MW: 174.20. Purity: ≥98% (Titration). Appearance: White to off-white solid. Solubility: Soluble in water (50mg/ml). Long Term Storage: +4°C. Handling: Protect from moisture.

Enzo Life Sciences N-Arachidonylglycine (5mg). CAS: 179113-91-8
Endogenous anandamide-like compound. Lacks affinity for CB1 receptors (Ki>10µM), TRPV1 (EC50>10µM) and anandamide uptake (IC50>50µM), but inhibits fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH) (IC50=8.5µM-50µM, depending on cell type and species). Displays anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity. Identified as an insulin secretagogue in a primary β-cell-based functional assay. Represents a new class of "lipoamino acids". Purity: ≥98% (TLC). Solubility: Soluble in DMSO or 100% ethanol. 2mg/ml soluble in PBS (pH 7.2). Long Term Storage: -20°C.

Enzo Life Sciences N-Acetyl-S-farnesyl-L-cysteine (25mg). CAS: 135304-07-3
Members of the Ras superfamily of G proteins, γ-subunits of heterotrimeric G proteins and the α-subunit of cGMP phosphodiesterase from retinal rods are all carboxyl methylated at carboxy-terminal S-farnesylcysteine residues. AFC specifically inhibits the S-farnesylcysteine methyl transferase (Km=20 µM) in cell free extracts and in whole cells. It inhibits carboxyl methylation of p21ras platelet Rap15 and the γ-subunit of transducin. It blocks receptor-mediated signal transduction in platelets and neutrophils not by inhibiting the methyltransferase, but possibly by inhibiting capacitative Ca2+ entry. Alternative name: AFC. Purity: ≥98% (HPLC). Solubility: Soluble in DMSO (25mg/ml), methanol or 100% ethanol (25mg/ml). Long Term Storage: -20°C.

A structurally unique activator of PKC in whole cells or in purified enzyme preparations (Kd=2.5 µM) which is equipotent with dioleoylglycerol. Since it does not possess hydrolyzable esters of fatty acids, it represents a stable, persistent PKC activator. Alternative name: FTT. Purity: ≥98% (TLC). Solubility: Soluble in DMSO or 100% ethanol. Long Term Storage: -20°C.
